Reviews of the book:

“There is no single franchise model. For executives, the challenge today is to configure a model that helps achieve strategic growth goals, the number of locations, and financial results for both sides: the franchisor and the franchisee. The book shows how to develop a replicable model of an advanced network organization that can be replicated in other markets and geographies. Valuable knowledge for companies with global ambitions and beyond.” – Wojciech Skoczylas, Board Member Costa Coffee Poland

“The Franchise 2.0 model shows how to increase scale, build brand equity, and thereby increase the market value of the network in the long term. Something that is of greatest interest to investors. Excellent knowledge about franchising, presented very well.” – Dr Maciej Kraus, Partner Movens Capital, Stanford Guest Lecturer

“The book is a unique publication on the publishing market. The subject matter is presented in an original context of business scaling, where the key foundations of development are the triad of strategy-education-technology. The way the content is presented and selected in the book is also unprecedented. The assumptions of Franchise 2.0, a business model that responds to the challenges of today’s market, are described in an interesting and accessible way for the reader. The book combines theoretical knowledge with interesting practical examples. The selection of case studies — well-known franchise networks setting market trends — gives the reader a broad and valuable cognitive perspective.” – Dr hab. inż. Eryk GÅ‚odziÅ„ski, Professor of the University, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Management at Warsaw University of Technology

“Entrepreneurs are looking for ways to grow their companies. This cannot be achieved without building a scalable organization, repeatable processes, unique know-how, and a brand. Franchise 2.0 helps systematically face this challenge and use the mechanisms that drive the success of companies such as McDonald’s or Å»abka.” – Tomasz Rudolf Co-Founder & CEO Doctor. One, Chairman Of The Supervisory Board The Heart

“A must-read for people building franchises, management teams of networks, but also for those who, as franchisees, want to join existing models on the market. Franchising in the 2.0 model is no longer just an agency agreement: it is above all partnerships, trust, a business with solid foundations, delivering high quality to customers of both franchisees and franchisors. It is a network focused on education, integrating partners around the brand’s vision and strategy. Franchise 2.0 is not so much a guide describing the key elements of building a franchise network, but rather a vision that will help the reader take a business based on the franchise model to a much higher level.” – MirosÅ‚aw Ziółkowski, Director of the Partner Outlets Sales Department

“Franchising is also a growth model for technology companies. How to think about unit economics when technology is of key importance in our value creation model. I recommend the Franchise 2.0 approach.” – Marek Cynowski, CEO & Co-Founder Rebel Tang, Virtual Restaurants as a Service

“A good guide to how one can think about building a profitable franchise, the step-by-step development of the System, and using the entrepreneurship of partners to co-create the success of the network. An inspiring perspective for those entering the market with franchising and master franchising.” – Szymon Adamczuk, Group CEO North Food (Part of MS Galleon GmbH)

About the Author

My name is Monika Ferreira and I am the Founding Partner and Strategic Advisor in the strategic consulting practice I’GS In Good Strategy and the Author of the Franchise 2.0 Project. Strategy. Education. Technology.

I help boards and entrepreneurs create scaling strategies and build entrepreneurial and sustainable franchise organizations focused on profitable growth for both the franchisor and franchisee.

I believe that in the long term, the networks that survive will be those that develop a competitive advantage not only by implementing advanced strategic and organizational solutions, but also by being able to create conditions for the development of the human being — the franchisee — the entrepreneur within the network.

For 15 years, I have been helping entrepreneurs and companies that develop their businesses based on the franchise model. As a result of my experience, first as a Franchisor, then as CEO after selling the business to an industry investor, and now as an Advisor, I created the strategic and organizational development program for franchise networks, Franchise 2.0 Partners, based on my original methodology for building network systems, Franchise 2.0.

Thanks to this program, I can now help networks create effective franchise organizations and cooperation conditions based on a culture of co-creation and entrepreneurship. I care about ensuring that, through the ability to learn, everyone — both as a network and as individual franchisees, entrepreneurs, and managers — becomes 2.0 and is able to compete and develop a profitable business in the new economy.
